Air Filtration System

Air Filtration Performance Chart

The data shown in this chart is the result of testing performed at the ITW Technology Center. The lighter colored line represents the first test performed in which only 1046 baffles were used in the hood system. The darker line represents the test results when the test was performed with the Hobart Air Filtration System in front of the baffles.

The baffle only test shows that about 18% of the six micron size particles were removed. Conversely, 82% of the six micron size grease particles were passed through into the exhaust system. The test with the Hobart Air Filtration System in front of the baffles show that about 91% of the six micron size particles were removed and that 9% of the six micron size grease particles were passed through into the exhaust system. The test results show that the metal baffles are not very efficient at filtering grease particles and that the Hobart Air Filtration System improves the efficiency greatly.

Air Filtration Collection Efficiency Chart

This chart compares the percentage and size (in microns) of grease particles captured by an industry standard UL 1046 baffle filter and the grease captured by the Hobart Air Filtration system used in front of a UL 1046 baffle filter. The application of the Hobart Air Filtration System increases the filtering efficiency for the smaller particles of grease and has a significant increase in filtering efficiency for larger size grease particles.
