Hobart Advansys™ LXeR Undercounter Warewasher Receives Kitchen Innovations™ 2013 Award

Advansys LXeR features patented Energy Recovery technology to significantly reduce steam and lower energy consumption

Hobart today announced that its new ENERGY STAR® qualified Advansys™ LXeR high-temperature undercounter warewasher is the recipient of a Kitchen Innovations™ 2013 award presented by the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show. The KI Awards recognize and celebrate cutting-edge equipment and supplies that specifically improve the back of the house and benefit foodservice operators.

“We designed the Advansys LXeR from the ground up to support best-in-class wash performance with significant energy- and water-saving capabilities,” explained Sarah Puls, business unit manager, Hobart Warewash. “The LXeR features Energy Recovery, which not only saves energy but also significantly reduces the amount of steam released when the door is opened at the end of the cycle.”

Key advantages of the Advansys LXeR are highlighted below:

Steam elimination

The Advansys LXeR high-temp model is the first undercounter in North America to feature Hobart’s patented Energy Recovery technology. This advanced feature recycles hot water vapor produced during the wash and rinse cycle and uses it to preheat cold inlet water. Based on energy audit results, the Advansys LXe high-temp model can save up to $485 per year in reduced energy and HVAC costs based on 60 cycles per day.

Energy Recovery not only saves energy, but it also reduces steam released into the air. Using Hobart’s Advansys LXeR means that bars, restaurants and coffee shops can serve their customers pure-tasting beverages in glassware, cups and mugs that are untainted by chemical residue. In addition, the significant reduction in steam and odor from sanitizing chemicals is minimized making for a more pleasant customer and operator experience.

Cycle flexibility

The Advansys LXeR lets operators choose from three different cycles: light, normal and heavy. Three cycles provide operators with the flexibility to clean lightly soiled ware quickly and still keep up during high-demand times. In addition, the Advansys LXeR is the only undercounter to achieve the NSF Pot and Pan rating on the heavy cycle.

Lower water consumption

The Advansys LXeR uses only 0.62 gallons per cycle compared with 0.74 gallons per cycle used by the Hobart LXi undercounter.

Smart Display

Improved displays are designed to simplify operation and maintenance. For example, the Smart Display on the Advansys LXeR informs the operator of common maintenance operations, like auto deliming or clogged wash arms, without using complex error codes.

Improved wash and rinse arms

The Advansys LXeR comes with redesigned easily removable wash arms—useful for easy declogging, should it ever be necessary. In addition, snap-in rinse arms are also easier to remove and install.

Deluxe strainer system

An extra-deep strainer system on the Advansys LXeR keeps debris from entering the pump and motor area, preventing damage and costly maintenance. This deluxe strainer system is also easy to remove and clean.

The new Hobart Advansys LXeR will be showcased in the interactive Kitchen Innovations Pavilion (booth 2440) at the 2013 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show, May 18-21 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. For more information about Advansys LXe, visit www.hobartcorp.com/LXe.
