Paragraph 1 - Introduction, your background - let the company get to know you

(in the next few sentences, you can talk about any or all these items.)
Your age, where you grew up, where you went to school, your family, your life experiences, your future, a favorite teacher, a favorite subject in school, a favorite hobby, what you like to do for fun/health/improvement, the best learning or growing experience you have had so far in your life.

Example:
Hello, my name is Kris Shepherd, and I am from the Dayton, Ohio area. I am the mother of a 20-year-oldson and have lived in Ohio for my entire life. I grew up on a farm and worked alongside my dad and brothers for most of my life. My dad was a car mechanic, a farmer and a carpenter and I learned all these skills and my work ethic from him. I have always been a hands-on learner, but I also like to read. My father did not graduate from high school until much later in life, so education meant everything to him. Although I studied construction trades and worked in architecture, I eventually went to college and became a teacher. It has been the best decision and the greatest journey of my life so far.

Paragraph 2 - Your work/life/educational experience – let the company get to know you more.

Example:
Most of my life I have worked in skilled trades, I really like construction, but I like any opportunity to use my brain and my hands at the same time. My first job I ever had was sharpening chainsaw blades. I really thought it was going to be boring but that was the job that changed my life. I worked with customers and really understood what it meant to have people skills. Also, working in a lawnmower shop made me realize that I had a mechanical aptitude, and I could make a career out of this interest. The next year in school I decided to study woodshop and business.

Paragraph 3 - Chosen career pathway

Example:
Although I am not certain what career pathway, I might be on I am certain I will be working with my hands and my brain in my future career. I have watched the video about what a Hobart Service Technician does, and I am really interested in this position. I could see myself working and growing in this field. I also know that the program I am going to study along with the fellowship internship experience will assist me with becoming the best service technician I can be. I do hope that my future career pathway will include Illinois Tool Works and Hobart Food Equipment Service.

Paragraph 4 (1 or 2 paragraphs if you choose) - Future career and life goals

Example:
If I am selected for the ITW Tech Fellowship Program, ITW be a part of my future career goals. I am going to select to study a field that will make me the best service technician for Hobart Food Equipment Service. I also plan on working hard, being on time, being consistent and a good representative for my employer. If I am chosen, I will take this selection very seriously. I will uphold my end of this partnership by studying, working hard, and coming to work with a positive attitude.
